1. About Mangala

Mangala is a celebration ledger app designed to help users record gifts, expenses, family event details, and related notes for occasions such as weddings, housewarmings, birthdays, and other family functions.

2. Information We Collect

Mangala may process the following categories of information that you choose to provide inside the app:

• Event details such as function title, family name, venue, category, and notes.
• Gift ledger details such as giver name, family name, relation, gift type, amount, payment mode, and notes.
• Expense records such as title, paid-to name, category, amount, payment mode, and notes.
• Photos or image files you select if you use the notebook photo import feature.
• Backup files that you export, import, or share from your device.

Mangala does not require account registration and does not ask for passwords, government ID numbers, or payment card details.

3. How We Use Information

We use information processed by the app to provide the app's core features, including:

• Saving and displaying your event, gift, and expense records.
• Importing text from photos you choose for ledger entry assistance.
• Creating local backup files and restoring data from those files.
• Sharing exported backup files when you choose to use the device sharing feature.
• Supporting app update checks delivered through Google Play where available.

4. Local Storage and Data Retention

Mangala is designed primarily to store your ledger information locally on your device. App data entered by you is saved in on-device storage so the app can remember your records between sessions.

Your data remains on your device until you edit it, delete it, uninstall the app, or overwrite it by importing backup data. If you export or share backups, copies of that data may also exist in locations that you choose, such as device storage or third-party apps/services selected by you.

5. Photo Import and Text Recognition

If you use the photo import feature, Mangala accesses only the photos or files you intentionally select. Those images may be processed to detect and extract text for your review before import.

Based on the current app implementation, this feature is used to help convert notebook or handwritten gift records into editable ledger entries inside the app. We do not operate our own server to upload your selected images or ledger data for this feature.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We also do not provide a user account system or our own cloud service for storing your Mangala ledger data.

Information may be shared only in the following limited situations:

• When you choose to export or share a backup file using apps or services available on your device.
• When platform providers such as Google Play are involved in delivering app updates or related app distribution services.
• When required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.

7. Third-Party Services and Platform Components

Mangala may rely on third-party libraries or platform components to support app functionality, such as:

• Google Play services or Google Play Core components for in-app update functionality.
• Google ML Kit text recognition components used by the app for OCR-related features.
• Operating system file picker, image picker, and sharing features made available by Android or iOS.

These platform providers may process limited technical information under their own privacy terms when their services are used. You should review the privacy policies of those providers if you need more information about their practices.

8. Permissions

Mangala may request access to device features only when needed for app functionality, such as:

• Photos or media access so you can choose an image for notebook photo import.
• Files or document access so you can import or export backup files.

You can choose not to grant these permissions, but some app features may not work correctly without them.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to reduce unauthorized access to information processed by the app. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

Mangala is not directed specifically to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can review the situation.

11. Your Choices

• You can edit or delete records inside the app at any time.
• You can uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data from the device, subject to device behavior and any backups you created.
• You can avoid using optional features such as photo import, backup sharing, or file import.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or platform policies. Updated versions will be posted at the same public URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
